Who's in the Band?

The members of the strikez live in the vale of Kerry, Mid-Wales, except Alastair, of Forden and Matteo of Abermule. We started playing together in 2007 and were known as "The Lightning Strikes". Alastair then joined us in August 2008, and we renamed ourselves "the strikez". In March 2010, Matteo became our new bass player. We usually play in the local pub - The Kerry Lamb - or the village hall. In the past, we have appeared at the Welshpool Music Festival, Theatr Hafren, Llanidloes High School, Three Tuns Inn, The Talbot, Glanmiheli Farm (YFC Rally), Bricklayer’s Arms, The Monty Club, The Elephant and Castle, Crash Festival.

They impressed the judges at the competition so much with their youthful professionalism that we bring them here for you all to enjoy. Alastair and Jamie play in a group together with others in Welshpool High School while Ben, Oli, Cerys and James have played together since 2007 on various Dolfor Young Farmer things within the Montgomery YFC. These include: Eisteddfod, Pantomimes and other musical things that Dolfor YFC needed a band for in Theatre Hafren and other stages. They were previously known as the "Lighting Strikes". When Alastair joined the band last August they renamed themselves "The Strikez".
